October Marks National Pork Month

Now's a great time to try more pork

National Pork Month was instituted in October of 1972 to mark the month where pork was traditionally was sent to market. The pork industry has seen a magnitude of changes over the years and there is no longer a designated month to send pigs to market. We still honor National Pork Month in October to thank the farmers for providing us with a wholesome product.

Pork has become a key part of a healthy diet. It provides a significant amount of protein, is low in fat, and is packed with key vitamins and minerals. The National Pork Board has developed a website to make it easy to add pork to your diet. Visit their site at https://www.porkbeinspired.com/ to find numerous recipes based on the cut of pork and your desired cooking method. They also provide nutrition information at https://www.porkbeinspired.com/nutrition/
